Abigail Shrier’s book “Irreversible Damage” purports to be a critical examination of the rise of transgender youth and the medical treatments that are often prescribed to them. However, upon closer examination, it becomes clear that the book is riddled with problematic and harmful content that spreads misinformation and fear about transgender individuals and the medical community that serves them.
From the very beginning, Shrier sets a tone of alarm and misinformation, suggesting that there is a “transgender craze” sweeping the nation and that young people are being rushed into medical treatments without proper understanding or consideration of the consequences. This is not only untrue, but it also perpetuates harmful myths about transgender individuals and the medical professionals who work with them.
Furthermore, Shrier’s book relies on anecdotes and cherry-picked data to support her arguments, while ignoring or dismissing the wealth of scientific research and expert opinions that support the efficacy and safety of medical treatments for transgender youth. This not only undermines the credibility of the book, but also contributes to the spread of misinformation and fear about a vulnerable and marginalized community.

Additionally, Brexit has raised questions about the future of the United Kingdom itself, with Scotland and Northern Ireland considering independence from the UK to maintain ties with the EU. The decision to leave the EU has also created tensions within the UK, particularly between those who supported Brexit and those who opposed it.

Lydia Benecke ist eine bekannte deutsche Kriminalpsychologin, die sich auf die Erforschung von Serienkillern spezialisiert hat. Sie hat zahlreiche Bücher zu diesem Thema verfasst und ist auch als Medienexpertin und Vortragsrednerin tätig.
In ihrer Arbeit untersucht Lydia Benecke die Psyche von Serienkillern und versucht zu verstehen, warum sie zu solch grausamen Taten fähig sind. Dabei berücksichtigt sie sowohl die biologischen als auch die psychologischen Faktoren, die zu solchem Verhalten führen können.
Lydia Benecke ist auch bekannt für ihre Kritik an der Darstellung von Serienkillern in den Medien und der Populärkultur. Sie argumentiert, dass diese oft falsche Vorstellungen und Stereotypen von Serienkillern verbreiten, die nicht der Realität entsprechen. Ihre Arbeit zielt darauf ab, ein besseres Verständnis von Serienkillern und ihrer Psychologie zu vermitteln und so dazu beizutragen, dass solche Verbrechen in Zukunft vermieden werden können.
In Deutschland ist Lydia Benecke eine bekannte Persönlichkeit, die oft in Talkshows und anderen Medien auftritt. Sie hat auch einen Doktortitel in Psychologie und hat an der Universität Hamburg gelehrt.
