The Spirit of Man (Reprise)

There must be something worth trying for
Even some things worth dying for
And if one man can stand tall
There must be some hope for us all
Somewhere, somewhere in the spirit of man

ASTROCOHORS CLUB – The New Manifesto

Welcome to the ASTROCOHORS CLUB, a website dedicated to one vital mission: inspiring and uniting people to address the challenges of our future. We believe that the future demands action, and action demands unity. Together, we have the collective power to shape a world where both people and the planet thrive. Our website is a hub, a think tank, and a rallying point for individuals, communities, and organizations committed to tackling the pressing challenges of today so we can create a better tomorrow.

Our Challenges

The future confronts us with urgent, interconnected challenges. Each of these issues impacts our lives, our communities, and the legacy we will leave for future generations. Among these challenges, we focus on:

  1. Climate Change and Environmental Degradation
The science is clear, and the effects are undeniable: our planet’s ecosystems are suffering, and our climate is changing at an alarming rate. If we do not act decisively, we risk irreversible damage to our planet’s life-support systems. Climate change is not just an environmental issue but a social one, as it disproportionately affects marginalized communities, undermines global stability, and threatens biodiversity. Our website will bring people together to understand, address, and mitigate climate change through shared knowledge, innovation, and action.
  2. Economic Inequality and Social Justice
Economic inequality is widening both within and between countries, creating a world where access to basic needs and opportunities is unequally distributed. Inequality fuels social unrest, impedes progress, and makes it harder to address collective challenges. We believe in the power of communities to build fairer economic systems that work for everyone. By exploring solutions to economic inequality and supporting initiatives that foster justice and equity, we can create a fairer world where everyone has a chance to thrive.
  3. Technological Transformation and Ethical Innovation
Technology is advancing at an unprecedented pace, shaping every aspect of our lives, from how we communicate to how we work and learn. While technology brings immense opportunities, it also presents ethical challenges that require our attention. The misuse of AI, threats to privacy, automation’s impact on jobs, and the digital divide are issues we must address if we are to create a responsible and inclusive digital future. This website will be a platform for discussions on ethical innovation and responsible tech practices that prioritize human well-being.
  4. Global Health and Well-being
Health crises, from pandemics to mental health challenges, have highlighted the need for robust and equitable health systems. We need solutions that support physical and mental health and make high-quality healthcare accessible to everyone, regardless of income or geography. Our website will support initiatives that promote global health, share insights on improving public health systems, and address the structural factors that impact health outcomes worldwide.

Our Mission

ASTROCOHORS Club is a call to action. We are here to foster dialogue, share knowledge, and support initiatives that aim to tackle these complex issues. This website is more than just an information resource; it is a community committed to:

  • Educating – providing up-to-date information, research, and resources on these critical issues.
  • Collaborating – creating opportunities for individuals and organizations to collaborate on meaningful projects.
  • Empowering – equipping our readers with practical tools and strategies to make a positive impact in their communities.

Our Purpose

Our purpose is to serve as a catalyst for change. We are here to inspire thought, spark innovation, and empower you to make a difference. This site is a reminder that the solutions to our shared challenges lie within each of us. When we come together, we are a powerful force for change.

Let’s face the future together. Let’s build a world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive, where our planet is protected, and where technology serves humanity responsibly. Join us on ASTROCOHORS CLUB, where we take action today for a better tomorrow.

Let’s bring all the positive voices together!

Mort & Phil versus the Pork Rind Gang – Gotta catch ’em all! | ACC #120

“Mort and Phil versus the Pork Rind Gang” is a comic by the Spanish comic artist Francisco Ibanez, which was published as a book in 1969 by Bruguera Verlag. In the story, Mort and Phil have to catch the spy gang of a certain Gidéon, called “Pork Rind”. The comic is a reflection of its time and is therefore not entirely without certain stereotypes. Jarmo takes a look at it.

Two reasons to celebrate: the 100th episode and the 150th subscriber. On this occasion, Jarmo is looking at the first films about the Gallic warrior Asterix. It can be described as the “first trilogy” because after the third part there was a long break and the style also changed. The three films are “Asterix the Gaul”, “Asterix and Cleopatra” and “The Twelve Tasks of Asterix”.

After the comic artist Macherot left the Tintin Magazine and Jo-El Azara wanted to work on other projects, “Clifton” was once again moved to a new artist, or in that case, two of them: the illustrator Bob de Groot and the writer Philippe Liégeois, known by his pen name Turk. The two sent Clifton on his new adventure: “The Mystery of the Running Voice”. It shouldn’t be the last adventure that they created for the famous detective.
