In town halls across the country last week, Republican and Democratic lawmakers alike faced severe backlash from constituents across the political spectrum who are angry about Trump and Elon Musk’s handling of government over the last month and concerned about slashes to federal jobs and social programs they rely on. Some Republicans seemed swayed by the turnout. Others, not so much. Separately, protests around the country, boycotts, and even altgov bluesky accounts by rogue federal employees indicate that the backlash against MAGA has begun.
