The Inherent Evasiveness of Apologetics

At its core, apologetics is an exercise in excuse making. Its whole purpose is to rationalize a set of beliefs that Christians are already invested in. Methodology doesn’t matter. The goal is not open exploration. All that matters is fending off doubts, and this must be done at all costs. Thus apologists develop an instinct to be automatically evasive on any topic that sounds like it will challenge their established faith. In this video, the Prophet of Zod examines an interesting case study in this phenomenon, which is Mike Winger’s response to a series of objections to belief in God.

Frasier Is Bad, Actually | hoots

“Frasier” is a beloved American sitcom that aired from 1993 to 2004, and it is a spin-off of the popular show “Cheers.” The series follows the life of Dr. Frasier Crane, a successful radio psychiatrist, who moves back to his hometown of Seattle to start a new chapter in his life. Along with his family and friends, Frasier navigates the ups and downs of life and relationships, all while offering his advice to his radio show listeners.

The show starred Kelsey Grammer as Frasier, David Hyde Pierce as his brother Niles, and John Mahoney as their father Martin. Other prominent cast members included Jane Leeves as Daphne Moon, Martin’s live-in caretaker, and Peri Gilpin as Roz Doyle, Frasier’s radio show producer.

Despite its popularity, “Frasier” faced some criticism over the years for its portrayal of women. Some critics felt that the show’s humor relied too heavily on sexist stereotypes, particularly when it came to Frasier’s treatment of his ex-wife, Lilith, and his relationships with other female characters. The show’s creators defended the show, arguing that the humor was meant to be satirical and that the characters were flawed and complex, just like real people.

I don’t know what to do with those tossed salad and scrambled eggs. Hoots and Neil work their way through the series and all the issues that come with it.
